Stabat Mater: Von Trauer und Hoffnung
In the organizer's words:
Deeply moved by personal grief, Antonín Dvořák set the medieval poem "Stabat Mater" to music; the poem depicts the pain of the Virgin Mary over her crucified Son. The original version for soloists, choir, and piano, which will be performed at this concert, was later revised by Dvořák into the well-known orchestral version.
