StabiLiebling: Die Tegernseer Haggada
In the organizer's words:
StabiLiebling. A masterpiece. Two days. Up close.
THE TEGERNSEE HAGGADA
Under the motto “StabiLiebling,” the Bavarian State Library opens its vaults and presents a masterpiece from its collections in itstreasure chamberfor two days each month.
This Hebrew manuscript, created in the late 15th century, is a particularly valuable and, at the same time, unusual example of a Haggadah. This collection of songs, prayers, and stories for the Jewish Passover commemorates the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land. The Tegernsee Haggadah was reinterpreted through a Christian lens, and its illustrations were designed accordingly.
Be inspired by centuries-old cultural treasures in their original form—behind glass, yet up close: A special artistic experience and fascinating insights into the “StabiLiebling” await you.
Free introductory talks on both days at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. (no registration required; meet at the Fürstensaal on the 1st floor)
