STOFFEL 2026: Iso Herquist & Band – Swing havin’ the Blues
In the organizer's words:
At Günthersburgpark: A danceable swing club vibe with groove and soul
A smooth, swinging sound that fills the room—sometimes soft and bouncy, sometimes with a heavy groove, sometimes pure blues. Iso Herquist takes on the swing tunes of the golden age of jazz and turns them into his very own blend: spontaneous, charming, and full of energy. With his ukulele, he brings an unexpected sound to the mix—not a gimmick, but a serious instrument with surprising depth. His voice sounds like a smoky, worn-out jazz club after a very long night: velvety and raspy at the same time, full of longing and soul. Like your favorite terry-cloth pajamas that were washed at too high a temperature once. Like missing the bus in the pouring rain. Simply put: a full-on blast of the blues. Iso is accompanied by two outstanding musicians who not only support his musical escapades but also enrich them: Thore Benz (double bass) provides the rich, earthy foundation, while Uta Wagner (drums) delivers the steady, danceable rhythm. Two sets of four strings and a set of drumheads—for a modern, cool, and exciting jazz club sound. No dogmas or clichés—open, groovy, and full of
joy of playing. Whether for listening, dancing, or just tapping along: This band has more than just style. It has attitude, humor, and plenty of passion.
