STONED JESUS were founded by Igor Sydorenko in Kiev in 2009 and quickly developed beyond their tongue-in-cheek band name. The Ukrainian trio's second album"Seven Thunders Roar" combines doom, prog and grunge and the album's centerpiece, the 13-minute"I'm the Mountain", has currently been viewed 15 million times on YouTube alone.
STONED JESUS' next LP"The Harvest" sounded like a mixture of "MASTODON", "PORCUPINE TREE" and "SOUNDGARDEN". Their charismatic live shows and relentless touring schedule helped double and triple their fanbase in a matter of months.
With nearly 500 live shows in their history, the band not only toured Europe and South America (twice!), but also shared festival stages with acts like "THE PRODIGY", "GHOST", "UNKLE", "LIAM GALLAGHER", "SLAYER", "KORN", "RAMMSTEIN", "THE OFFSPRING", "GOJIRA", "BRING ME THE HORIZON", "DREAM THEATER" and even the almighty "BLACK SABBATH"! The trio was chosen as direct support by the legendary veterans "DEEP PURPLE" for their 2018 concert in Kiev, which was attended by 10,000 rock and metal fans.

The story of THE ABBEY began when Finnish music veteran Jesse Heikkinen felt the sudden urge to try his hand at singing in a doom metal band after having already performed as a guest vocalist with his fellow countrymen Fuzzifer. His idea was to form a doom metal band with "big vocals" - a project that would be created for the fun of it and would thrive on improvisation. Former Sentenced and The Man Eating Tree drummer Vesa Ranta was also involved in these plans - the first name that came to Heikkinen's mind for the project. Ranta quickly took a liking to Heikkinen's early demos and suggested adding a female vocalist. Enter Natalie Koskinen.
Janne Markus (guitar, also from The Man-Eating Tree) and Henri Arvola (bass) soon completed the band's lineup. The debut album"Word of Sin" was recorded between April and November 2021 at various locations in Finland.
The creative process behind Word of Sin proved to be so fruitful that the members of THE ABBEY are already thinking about a sequel. This is a testament to the inherent strength of the material and the connection between all five musicians. (Source: Bandinfo)
