From its original self-image, street art sees itself as an art form that not only plays on urban space, but also appropriates it in a practical artistic way and comments on it pictorially. Street artists use the street as a platform to redefine the classic presentation of established art and to counter it with a counterpart.

In the gallery spaces of the Kulturbunker in Cologne-Mülheim, which serve as a central meeting place and contact point, Strassengold presents a varied exhibition with national artists and their artworks that address current social issues.

A not insignificant part of the Strassengold art project takes place on the street and offers all visitors with an affinity for street art the opportunity to discover street art in a completely different way via a street art image search. The street art picture search helps to sharpen the view for art in public space under the guidance of a digital and open picture street map.

The guide Michael Johne from Cologne Streetart Tours invites you to join him on guided street art tours through the Cologne district of Mülheim and embarks on an exciting picture search together with you.

Strassengold 2024 will be rounded off with a walk-in street art spot in the showroom of Cologne street artist SeiLeise in Cologne-Mülheim. The showroom will be designed freestyle, wild and colorful by the participating artists.
