Literary Walk to the Street Art Hotspots in Cologne-Ehrenfeld

We’re heading out again on a tour of exciting street art spots in Cologne.

Each STREET ART READINGS tour features two authors who have explored individual works of art in public spaces through literature. Together with Cologne-based authors Lea Weber and Leonhard Kuhnen, we’ll walk from artwork to artwork on September 20 and listen to the texts right on the spot in Ehrenfeld—right in the heart of the city. Experienced street art guide Sascha Klein will also provide information about the neighborhood and the artworks along the route.

Please note that, due to recent regulations, we cannot use sound amplification via portable speakers this year. The readings will therefore take place at selected quiet locations. Please be aware that audibility may be limited depending on ambient noise and individual hearing conditions.

The STREET ART READINGS have been taking place since 2022. The walk on September 20 marks the end of this literary series. We would therefore be delighted if you would join us one last time on a literary and artistic exploration of Ehrenfeld.

About the Authors

Lea Weber, born in 1996, grew up in the Münsterland region and in Gießen. After completing a degree in psychology, she has been studying at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts since 2022, specializing in creative writing. Her writings have been published in the KHM anthology *Kurze* and the magazine *Das Narr*, among others, and were nominated for the shortlist of the Wortmeldungen Ulrike Crespo Award in 2024.

Leonard Kuhnen, born in 1981, lives and works in Cologne as a freelance writer, musician, actor, and voice actor. For many years, he has been publishing poems and short prose in literary magazines, zines, and online publications, including 1000Zeichen, Absolut Zine, Poets of the New World, the Aviole collective, and Literaturautomat. In 2026, his poetry collection *Wie man fliegt, wenn man fällt* was published.
