SUR_SOUTH_SOUTH Myriam Muñoz Roa (painting) and Jürgen Richter (photography)
Chilean-born painter Myriam Muñoz Roa and Munich-based photographer Jürgen Richter will exhibit their works under the joint title "SUR-SOUTH-SÜDEN" from November 8-19 at the Orangerie in the English Garden.
Admission, daily from 12:30-20:00, is free.
Myriam Muñoz Roa, inspired by painting courses with children and young people in your open studio in Munich-Solln, leads the viewer with emotionally used colors and abstract forms on inner journeys, towards peace and contemplation. Santiago de Chile, Mexico, Berlin and exhibitions in Italy are woven into her career as a painter.
Found pieces of dead wood are given new textures through the application of a wide variety of materials - even cosmetic residues - and come to new life as sculptural works of art.
Jürgen Richter, known for his photo projects in Southern Europe, takes us on a journey into the fleetingness of light and color, embedded in photographically sealed time. With ethereal appearances of color, form and light, the south - "Sur" - becomes a synesthetic space of longing without a place in the photographs shown at the Orangerie.
Sharpness and blurriness, even dissolving structures, evoke metamorphoses between micro- and macrocosm, subtle dissolution of boundaries, transparency. Jürgen Richter shows his photographs as exposures on authentic silver halide photographic paper.
The Orangerie in the English Garden, English Garden 1A, 200m southeast of the Chinese Tower is easily accessible by streetcar 16 (Tivolistraße), after-work vernissage is on Friday, 10.11.2023 at 16:30Uhr, the evening vernissage on the same day begins at 19:00Uhr.
