Tag der Trinkhallen
In the organizer's words:
Kiosks and small stands are more than just places to buy cigarettes and an after-work beer—they’re the heart of our neighborhood, serving as both a gathering place and a cultural treasure. On August 29, we’ll be celebrating exactly that: Trinkhallen Day turns our kiosks into vibrant hotspots for culture, music, and socializing. With plenty of Ruhr Valley charm, we’ll show just how diverse and identity-defining these special places are for our Ruhr region.
On Kiosk Day, over 100 kiosks across the Ruhr region will transform into one giant open-air party. From 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., we’ll celebrate our kiosks and “Bömskes” together—for free and outdoors!
What makes it special? 33 program booths!
At select Trinkhallen, special highlights await you in four different categories:
Music – DJ sets, hip-hop, live acts
Soccer – quizzes, live podcasts, cartoons
Performing Arts – Comedy & more
Miscellaneous – gaming, poetry, film
Where’s the action?
You’ll find the program booths in: Dortmund, Castrop-Rauxel, Herne, Recklinghausen, Gelsenkirchen, Bottrop, Oberhausen, Duisburg, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Essen, and Bochum.
Throughout the Ruhr region, there are many more interactive booths to discover—each with its own activities, such as flea markets, barbecue events, Parisian flair, or cozy game tables.
Take advantage of the day to explore the Ruhr region in a whole new way—from booth to booth! With our biking and hiking routes, you can navigate your way through the Ruhr region with ease.
