Tausend & ein Talk – Die Migra-Night

A Thousand and One Talks – Migra-Night is Cologne’s most popular living-room talk show, combining entertainment with education. This is the only place where you can hear opinions and insights on current topics from a Migra perspective. At Migra-Night, there’s laughter, tears, and heated debates on stage—Migra-style, of course!

On September 17, 2026, we’ll meet again at YUCA, and this time, in addition to our usual topics, we want to focus especially on empathy in today’s world.

The talk guests:

OMAR JATTA

Omar Jatta doesn’t just get the crowd going with his HIGH ENERGY sets—he also brings a strong political stance to the German music scene through his art and his on-stage commentary. The Afro-German artist, with roots in Gambia and Senegal, deeply explores themes of origin, identity, and life in the diaspora through his music. Songs like “Wo ich herkomm” have long since become anthems for migrants and demonstrate just how important Omar’s work is for social cohesion and raising awareness about racism.

ÇAĞDAŞ EREN YÜKSEL

As a creator and producer,Çağdaş develops projects with a significant social impact. After studying social sciences and economics in Cologne and Istanbul, he made a career change into the film industry. Today, he primarily brings rarely told perspectives to the forefront of the film landscape. His latest streaming series, UNCIVILIZED, has been honored with awards including the German Television Prize and the Civis Top Award. Together with co-creator Bilal Bahadır, the two remain the first Grimme Prize winners in Germany to have returned their awards in order to stand up for human values.

SAPHIRA ZARGAR

From class clown to media clown: Saphira grew up in Marburg with Iranian roots and has been living in Berlin for 13 years now. Much of Saphira’s life revolves around racism, classism, feminism, and anti-queer sentiment. It’s therefore hardly surprising that Saphira ended up in the media business, where she’s really shaking things up. Saphira’s work is primarily in the comedy and entertainment sectors and includes shows featuring stars like Parshad. Saphira has two dogs and is a total nerd when it comes to hip-hop and movies.

THE HOST:

NADA ASSAAD

Nada Assaad is a freelance journalist, host, producer, author, and cultural creator. Throughout her career, she has worked for various media outlets. Nada holds a degree in literature, cultural studies, and musicology from the University of Bonn and serves on the jury for the City of Cologne’s Dieter-Wellershoff Scholarship. In 2025, she and her team won the Grimme Online Award in the Culture and Entertainment category. When Nada isn’t working for the culture department at WDR, she serves as a panelist, develops and hosts her own talk shows, or creates content for her anti-racism campaign, raus.reden. Nada’s goal: to speak honestly and authentically about racism and other

forms of discrimination, and to find ways to strengthen social cohesion.
