Who the heck is Team Dresch?

Team Dresch is a band from Portland, Oregon, who started playing together a few years ago, in 1993. Their 1994 album “Personal Best” was recently ranked #48 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Best Punk Albums of All Time,” and they’re still touring and making new music. The band is widely regarded as the most influential queercore band from the U.S.; their sound is a raw, nerve-wracking, angst-infused punk-grunge vocal harmony—a beautiful, angry, tender, swirling mess of incredibly cool song dynamics and incredibly catchy anthems. The raw emotional honesty of their sound was also a formative inspiration for the emo genre. Their live shows are like a family reunion; the music serves as the conduit for the life-affirming connection between the band and the audience.
