When The Bad Plus ' first album was released in 2001, two covers of Abba and Nirvana caused an outcry in the jazz world. This immediately propelled the band to the center of attention, where they still are today. Now in their 21st year, founding members Reid Anderson (bass) and Dave King (drums) are joined by Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (tenor saxophone) for a new, piano-less incarnation of the band - unleashing a new wave of excitement and anticipation that has reinvigorated their sound and inspiration. In their interplay, they are constantly busy building bridges between genres and techniques, while exploring the infinite possibilities of extraordinary musicians in perfect synchronization.
