Dream Pop / Noise-Rock / Trap-Rock / Glitterschmetter Folk concert at the Asimmetric Bar
The Doctorella from Berlin surprise on their latest album "Mondscheinpsychose, Bordsteinrose" with a completely new mixture of noise rock and trap, great melodies and luminous metaphors. Dream pop songs that play in the black underground garages of the soul and develop into soaring survivors. Shaking and touching, with the poetic flow of hip-hop, Distelmeyer and Sylvia Plath: croony riot grrrl chansons at the moment!
But let's start again: The Doctorella is the band of the Grether sisters, who as authors are also among the most important voices of pop feminism in the German-speaking world. We've loved them since they emerged in the Spex environment in the nineties and have never tired of denouncing all the shit between misogyny, patriarchy and capitalism. Their series of events "Ich brauche eine Genie" and "Krawalle und Liebe" are also great - our tip would be to plan a stay in Berlin around them.
Also practical: Daniel Benyamin (ex-Sea & Air) is not only driving the new Doctorellas forward as the new drummer (and producer of the album), but is also accompanying himself and the Grethers on this year's tour as his own tour support.
