The Notwist - News From Planet Zombie Tour

With 'News from Planet Zombie', The Notwist return after years of experimentation and exploration with an album that is both melancholic and positive, characterized by a series of exciting, passionate pop songs. It's an album that reflects a chaotic world, but responds to it with warmth and generosity to achieve creative and spiritual consolidation. Recorded in their hometown of Munich, it draws on the security of the local to explore the problems of the global: a theme that runs through all eleven songs on the album. It is also the first studio album since "12" from 1995 that the band has recorded together in the studio with their extended live line-up.

A new album from The Notwist is always an exciting endeavor; their musical language is as consistent and resilient as the contexts for their creativity are unpredictable and ever-changing. For "News from Planet Zombie", the core trio of Markus and Micha Acher and Cico Beck utilized the diverse possibilities of collaborative songwriting by bringing songs into the band and then arranging, rehearsing and recording them live in the studio.

The result is an album full of energy, completely in the here and now, with spectacular moments in which you can feel the magic that arises in the dynamic between the Achers, Beck and their bandmates Theresa Loibl, Max Punktezahl, Karl Ivar Refseth and Andi Haberl. While "Teeth" "News from Planet Zombie" begins calmly and thoughtfully, everyone is full of energy on "X-Ray" and lets future anthems ring out with full force. The ringing tones of "Propeller" glide across the surface of the instrumental like stones over bubbling water; "The Turning" beats its way to one of the album's most heart-warming melodies.
