In the organizer's words:
We are an initiative of various people and institutions whose aim is to get into conversation with each other - about topics that move us. To this end, we invite people to themed evenings.
This time:"True Criminology - What we really know about crime.
Can we measure crime? What are the actual causes of crime? And what role do age, origin, gender and bank balance play?
In addition to these questions, this evening will also focus on how we deal with crime. How people are punished in Germany. And what punishment actually achieves. Is prevention useful and successful? Nicole Bögelein and Gina Rosa Wollinger argue for a rational approach to these issues. They challenge popular misconceptions and counter media scaremongering with an objective view. In the end, they make a plea for a new crime policy.
