In the organizer's words:
Ballet meets Irish folk meets punk! The ensemble work by Northern Irish choreographer Sheena McGrandles combines longing and alienation, routine and rebellion in an electrifying way. At the center of "Toil" is the dancing body at work - torn between these four opposing states. Driven by the specially composed live music between electro, folk and punk by the two musicians on stage, the five dancers paint a physical portrait of dance: as a place of longing where movement itself becomes work. Born out of a deep devotion to dance with all its struggles and joys, an intense examination of one's own physicality, rhythm and cohesion emerges. A constant effort to follow the ever-changing pulse of time.
