Töurcher en Kölle un drömeröm: St. Martin Groß und Klein
In the organizer's words:
St. Martin for Young and Old - The Holy Man in Cologne
From the series “Romanesque Churches in Kölsch.”
“Saint Martin” is one of the Rhineland’s best-known patron saints. There are two churches named after him in downtown Cologne. Of the now largely forgotten church of Klein St. Martin, only the bell tower remains. The Romanesque church of Groß St. Martin has shaped the silhouette of Cologne’s city skyline for centuries. The guided tour highlights the churches’ key features while also exploring regional customs. During the connecting walk, the development of Cologne’s Old Town is briefly explained.
And to keep things from getting too dry, “we’ll chat the whole time in Kölsch.” As we weave certain topics into Cologne’s city history and accompany them with traditional Cologne songs, you’ll be invited to actively participate.
