Field'sfourth album, the second with this line-up, documents the development of a unique ensemble sound - acoustic, quiet and precise in its vagueness, highly reactive in its dynamics and momentum. "The band works more contrapuntally than ever before and is carried by a careful agreement, by close listening, by collective presence of mind. There is an agreement to work out what is important," writes Hans-Jürgen Linke in the liner notes. "In a quartet that has mastered the fine art of interlocking four worlds of thought and sound, everyone has everyone in front of their ears at every moment. A whole emerges. It becomes audible if it is quiet enough."
