When Uri Caine performs in the tried and tested line-up of the piano trio, you can expect something special. As a pianist, keyboardist and composer, he is one of the greats of the New York jazz avant-garde. Like his soulmate John Zorn, he knows how to unite fundamentally different styles, from klezmer to funk and from film music to classical works by Bach and Beethoven. His acoustic trio, now featuring drummer Joey Baron and bassist Mark Helias, with whom he has collaborated for many years, will play a sparkling combination of new originals, standards and free improvisations.

"I met Joey and Mark when I first moved to New York and played with them in the rhythm sections of various groups. From the moment we started playing together, we felt an instant connection. I'm looking forward to playing as a trio with Mark and Joey because having them on stage is always great! As a trio we will be playing a combination of new originals, standards and free improvisations," says Caine.
