Luca Curcio – La BOMBA

In the organizer's words:

Luca Curcio first learned to play the trumpet because he wanted to join the band in his home town in northern Italy. He later switched to drums before finding the instruments he would go on to study - electric and double bass - first at the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Turin and later at the Rytmisk music conservatory in Copenhagen. He moved to Berlin in 2022, but has been commuting between the German and Danish capitals ever since. These two metropolises are also the pan-European coordinates of his quintet: with him on bass and the Ukrainian Igor Osypov on electric guitar, who also lives in Berlin, with his fellow countryman Francesco Bigoni on tenor saxophone, who lives in Copenhagen, and the Dane Asger Uttrup Nissen on alto saxophone, who lives in Berlin, plus the Norwegian Simon Olderskog Albertsen on drums, who lives in Copenhagen. Together, they play improvisational music that is completely located in the here and now and, with its sounds that seem physical, dense clusters of notes and swirling grooves, creates one sonic sensation after another.

The concert is partially seated. There is no entitlement to a seat.
