In the organizer's words:
In today’s digital world, we’re writing by hand less and less. As a result, the beautiful handwriting styles that our grandparents and great-grandparents learned in school have become something of a mystery to many of us. But don’t worry: With a little practice and a willingness to experiment, getting started is easy!
We cordially invite you to join us in exploring the fascinating world of 19th- and early 20th-century handwriting styles. In a brief introduction, we’ll show you how to decipher these historical handwritings step by step. We’ll use practical examples from the city archives to help you get started.
And best of all: You won’t just be reading—you’ll get to try your hand at writing with a quill and ink—a wonderful experience that’s sure to captivate you. We look forward to sharing this exciting journey into the past with you!
