Then you should learn more about the Senior Experts Service (SES) in Bonn. Whether through the German-African Youth Service as a young professional with some initial work experience, through Weltdienst 30+ as a specialist or manager in the middle of your career, or as a senior expert who is retired or on a career break, the SES offers you tailored opportunities to volunteer in development cooperation projects. Assignments typically last three to six weeks. They are fully funded by the SES and involve no costs for you as experts. In return, you contribute your expertise and personal commitment to a worthy cause.

SES is Germany’s largest sending organization for volunteer assignments in development cooperation. Since 1983, SES has carried out 30,000 international expert assignments. Upon request, it supports small and medium-sized enterprises, social and medical facilities, educational and training institutions, public administrations, chambers of commerce, and trade associations around the globe. Behind the SES are more than 12,000 dedicated individuals from a wide variety of disciplines and with diverse qualifications. They assist across all industries and sectors in solving technical, economic, or organizational problems, as well as in in-house training and the education of skilled workers. SES is supported by the leading associations of the German business community and funded by the German federal government.
