When I Saw You At The Flower Passage // PERFORMANCE

In the organizer's words:

WHEN I SAW YOU AT THE FLOWER PASSAGE is a 40-minute performance by and with HICHI DEMI and S. RUDAT that combines text, voice, body and sound to create a dense, multi-layered experience.

The work deals with narrative structures that form, establish and at the same time destroy identity. Above all, the focus is on memory and remembering. Her work interweaves body, sound and space to create resonance spaces for remembering - and forgetting. The focus is on the search for what remains when narratives dissolve: the fleeting trace of what we actually wanted to tell ourselves.

The performance sees itself as a poetic-political examination of storytelling itself - as action, as language, as memory and as a place of resistance.

At the center is a woman who can no longer remember. On a journey, she encounters fragments of her past. These tell indirectly of her family history, flight, loss and a legacy that has inscribed itself in her body and language.

Based on performative texts and monologues by Hichi Demi, an associative network of memories, dreams and encounters emerges - between reality and fiction.
