In our one-day workshop you will get an authentic insight into the world of theater. Under the guidance of experienced actor, performer and filmmaker Leonard Grobien, you will discover the basics of acting with simple exercises and learn how to bring emotions, stories and characters to the stage.

The focus is on the question: What stories do the participants themselves want to tell? Together we will explore how diverse acting can be as a form of storytelling and "writing" - without pen and paper. Through improvisations, playful exercises and creative experiments, we will try out different ways of inventing stories, creating characters and bringing scenes to life.

We also discover what acting is, what it means to be an actor and how important team spirit, listening and group dynamics are in theater. We develop a feeling for expression, stage presence and playing together at our own pace.

Don't worry - in this workshop we start very slowly. We will approach acting with small warm-up exercises and simple improvisations. Without any claim to perfection and beyond right and wrong: the focus here is on having fun and experimenting together.

The workshop is aimed at people with disabilities with no previous acting experience aged 14 to 99 who want to be creative, try out new things and gain their first acting experience in an open atmosphere.

Speaker

Leonard Grobien

Leonard Grobien writes and realizes films, acts in front of the camera and on stage. He also advises on screenplays and films with regard to accessibility. He graduated from the International Film School Cologne (ifs) as a screenwriter in 2023 and lives in Berlin. He produces short films with his company Aura Film (aura.film). Leonard hosted the Grimme Award-nominated YouTube channel "100 percent me" by FUNK in 2019. As an actor, he has worked as a guest at Schauspielhaus Wien, Theater an der Ruhr, Theater Hagen and was on stage in the Un-Label production "24 Hebel für die Welt - Berichte aus der Winterreise" (co-production with Beethovenfest Bonn) in 2024. Productions in which Len is involved have been invited to festivals and guest performances in Graz, Bremen, Mainz, Bern, Heidelberg, Weimar and Berlin, among others. The play "Die vielen Stimmen meines Bruders " was awarded the Nestroy Prize in 2024.

All performance spaces are barrier-free. Assistance dogs are welcome.
