With a total of 14 locations and its bookmobile, the Duisburg City Library is one of the city’s most important educational and cultural institutions.

The library is a sustainable hub for education, democratic dialogue, media, and culture. We stand for open encounters, innovation, and inspiration in a diverse urban community. You’ll find a comprehensive and diverse range of media resources for all age groups, both in person and online. Equally diverse is our selection of events for children, teens, and adults—to which we warmly invite you.

Anyone who wants to learn and work here is just as welcome as groups who wish to meet and exchange ideas with us. In our “MachBar” makerspace, ideas can be brought to life—whether using a 3D printer, in front of a green screen, or with traditional craft materials. A modern computer is available there, as are digitization devices for photos, vinyl records, and other media.
