On a cold New York evening, two women meet at a bereavement support group: Amanda and Wendy can't come to terms with the past after losing their loved ones to brutal crimes. Both are waiting in vain for the perpetrator to be brought to justice. So they make a pact: Amanda will kill the man who raped and murdered Wendy's daughter. Steve Cavanagh grew up in Belfast and studied law in Dublin. He worked in various jobs before landing a position at a large law firm in Belfast and becoming known as a civil rights lawyer. He now concentrates on his work as an author. His thriller series about Eddie Flynn made him one of the most successful suspense writers in the UK and the USA.

Anouk Schollähn, born in 1976 and raised in Baden-Württemberg, is a radio and television journalist and podcaster (ARD). She has also made a name for herself internationally as a presenter of readings and is a welcome guest at the Erfurt Crime Festival. Anouk Schollähn has lived in Hamburg for many years.
