a straight line: New American Chamber Music
In the organizer's words:
The “New American Chamber Music” concert series is being extended! And it’s broadening its American scope: at a time when attempts are being made to narrow the definition of America, we’re expanding our horizons and showcasing composers from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico interacting with one another. The ensemble “a straight line” will perform works by Missy Mazzoli, Enrico Chapela Barba, Andrew Norman, and Cassandra Wilson, ranging from string quartet to septet. Let’s celebrate an America of diversity together!
Program:
Missy Mazzoli: *You Know Me from Here* for string quartet
Enrico Chapela Barba: S.O.S. for string trio, flute, clarinet, and piano
Andrew Norman: An Index of Peculiar Strokes
Cassandra Wilson: *Perfect Offering* for string quartet, flute, clarinet, and piano
a straight line: Nina Takai and Viktor Stenhjem (violin), Kelvin Hawthorne (viola), Katerina Giannitsioti (cello), Stefan Schneider (clarinet), Agnes Mayr (flute), Jean-Pierre Collot (piano)
