The indirect light of Casablanca's alleyways falls into an apartment with a small bakery attached to it. Abla lives there with her eight-year-old daughter Warda. When the heavily pregnant Samia knocks on her door one day and asks for work, Abla initially turns her away. But Warda immediately takes the stranger to her heart - and eventually manages to soften her mother's heart too. When Samia turns out to be a skilled baker, a tender bond of friendship grows between the two women. As the birth of Samia's child draws ever closer, however, the question of what future there can be for her arises, because freedom and lack of freedom are not decided here in private, but that is where the circumstances must be dealt with. Maryam Touzani tells a story from today's Casablanca, about the great solidarity of two women and the sensual art of baking. It's a long time since we've seen such a dense aesthetic and such a loving look at the protagonists.

Abla runs a small bake store in Casablanca and lives with her young daughter Warda. When Samia, highly pregnant and all alone, knocks on her door to ask for a job, it's the last thing she needs. But Warda convinces here to take Abla in. From then on, things will change. In the bakery and in their lives.
