Alisha Gamisch liest aus "Parasiti"

A letter causes upheaval in the lives of Rina, her aunt Valli and her grandmother Lydia: from one day to the next, her grandmother falls silent. Rina begins to ask questions - and, against all odds, initiates a conversation between the generations. She suspects that she has not only inherited her family's angular figure and fondness for early evening series, but also their fears and insecurities.

Between Novosibirsk in the 1960s and Fürstenfeldbruck in the near present, Alisha Gamisch follows the lives of three Russian-German women in her debut novel.

Alisha Gamisch studied English and German in Munich and London and now lives in Berlin. Her first volume of poetry "Lustdorf" (Verlagshaus Berlin, 2020) was voted one of the best poetry debuts of the year by the Haus für Poesie. In 2022 she received the Nora Pfeffer Prize for Poetry from the Bavarian Cultural Center of Germans from Russia, and in 2023 she was a scholarship holder of the Literary Colloquium Berlin's Novel Workshop. She has been part of the literary girl band 'No Scribes' since 2025. "Parasiti" is her debut novel.
