Jean Améry and Jakob Wassermann, Arnold Zweig and Ruth Klüger, Hilde Domin, Primo Levi and many other Jewish authors experienced the Holocaust. Those who survived gave voice to the horror, they reported on the failure of civil society, on growing hatred and exclusion. Their texts are both historical documents and warnings, and their testimony is more important today than ever. We will hear excerpts from autobiographical texts and letters, read by Matthias Brandt and accompanied by Andreas Skouras (Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich, among others) on the piano.
