Amrum

As the Second World War draws to a close, twelve-year-old Nanning (Jasper Billerbeck) is busy around the clock on Amrum trying to help his family. He and his family were bombed out in Hamburg and had to flee to the North Sea island, while his father, a high-ranking Nazi, ended up as a prisoner of war. Adolf Hitler's suicide causes Nanne's mother Hille (Laura Tinke), herself a staunch Nazi, to fall into a deep depression. Nanne is now more on his own than ever before and is also responsible for looking after his reclusive mother. But after the end of the war, pretty much everything is in short supply and he has to somehow get into (barter) business with the other inhabitants of Amrum. But they know about the convictions of Nanning's parents, who now involuntarily leave their mark on him too...
