Filmvorführung "Es brennt" + Gespräch

Amal (Halima Ilter), Omar (Kida Khodr Ramadan), and their son Ahmad (Emir Taskin) are a happy Arab family who have made their home in Germany. One day, they encounter a man named Franz (Nicolas Garin) at the playground. What begins as a chance encounter, however, quickly escalates into a situation that spirals out of control when Franz insults and attacks Amal because of her headscarf. The family is shocked and hurt, and legal proceedings are initiated to seek justice. During the court hearings, however, a tragic incident occurs that changes the family’s life in unexpected ways. Events take a turn that no one could have foreseen. Suddenly, Amal, Omar, and Ahmad face new challenges and must grapple with the consequences of their decisions. During this difficult time, their family bonds are put to the test, and they must prove their strength and solidarity to emerge from this situation stronger than before.

Following the film, we would like to engage in a safe and open dialogue together. The focus will be on the topic “The Lives of Muslim Women in Dresden.” We will discuss challenges, visibility, strength, and the shared struggle against discrimination in everyday life.
