Eleven-year-old orphan Harry Potter learns that his parents were a witch and a wizard who were murdered. During his first year at a school for wizardry, he and his two new friends embark on a dangerous adventure in the fight against the forces of evil. A lavishly staged, turbulent and exciting fantasy film based on the successful novel of the same name, which mainly focuses on the many attractive visual effects, while clearly reining in the more subtle tones of the imaginative, fabulous original so as not to jeopardize its broad commercial appeal.
