Anneke van Giersbergen discovered her love of music at a very early age. Even as a young girl, she sang along to songs by Barbra Streisand and Kate Bush. However, all that changed when her older brother introduced her to heavy metal. The dark atmosphere, coupled with anthemic melodies and powerful vocals, turned Anneke van Giersbergen into a real metal fan.

In 2021, she appeared on a Dutch talk show to mark the 40th anniversary of Metallica and performed "Nothing Else Matters" with a string quartet.

Ruud Peeters, the arranger of this extraordinary version, was just as celebrated as the performance by Anneke and the string quartet. An idea was born.

This tour features a wide selection of heavy classics, including hymns by Iron Maiden, power ballads by the Scorpions and legendary Black Sabbath songs. They are all performed in a semi-classical version, of course uniquely realized by Anneke van Giersbergen and her string quartet.
