Born in 1997, Benjamin Ingrosso grew up on the outskirts of Stockholm. As his not exactly Swedish-sounding surname suggests, he has Italian roots. The love story of his parents Emilio Ingrosso and Pernilla Wahlgren could not be more closely linked to the Eurovision Song Contest: The dancer and composer and the singer met in 1985, when Pernilla competed for the first time (out of a total of four attempts) at the "Melodifestival", the Swedish preliminary round for the ESC - Emilio was one of her backing dancers. They fall in love, get married, write many songs together and have three children together - one of whom is Benjamin. And another member of his family has an ESC past - and a very successful one at that: Charlotte Perrelli, who won the competition in 1999, is Benjamin's aunt.
Benjamin set out early on to follow in his family's musical footsteps. Even as a child, he took on roles in musicals and sat at home teaching himself to play the piano and guitar. His early musical role models are Stevie Wonder, Hall & Oates and Michael Jackson. What appeals to him is a mix of modern and older pop music. The young musician's early eagerness paid off: At not even ten years old, Benjamin won the "Lilla Melodifestivalen" in 2006. This qualified him for the "Nordic Melodi Grand Prix 2006", where he came third with his song "Hej Sofia".
A year later, his single "Jag är en astronaut" is released, which climbs to number two in the Swedish singles charts. This is followed by two gold and one platinum award for his songs "Do You Think About Me", "Fall In Love" and "Good Lovin". It was the start of a breathtaking career in Sweden, which began with a 7th place at the ESC 2018 in Lisbon. Three of his four albums released to date have reached the top of the Swedish charts, 18 of his singles have reached the top 40, and his captivating shows and diverse musical style have made Benjamin Ingrosso one of Sweden's most popular live artists. In reviews of these shows, he is repeatedly compared to famous artists such as Bruno Mars and George Michael.
The "Better Days Tour 2024" is a spectacular journey that will take Benjamin to venues across Europe for the first time in his music career. With new music also set to be released next year, Benjamin is ready to wow his fans across Europe.
