In the organizer's words:
On its new three-track EP, the Berlin-based garage rock quartet Bird Control highlights its love for dub, Krautrock, and psychedelic cumbia. The opener and title track , “Destroy All Human Life,” pounds out its message—laced with fuzz-laden frustration for two and a half minutes before—driven by grooves reminiscent of a mix between Santana and King Tubby—it soars into the atmosphere above the ruins of a destroyed Earth.
Next, the cumbia-style song “Born Inside Out” explores the consequences of having one’s organs outside the body—with an organ making an appearance in both the chorus and the outro.
Finally, the hypnotic track “Memes & Genes” builds wave upon wave of atmospheric sound into a massive explosion of reverb-soaked guitar, bass, and drums, before bidding farewell (for now) with a final, gentle goodbye.
Bird Control—three guitarists, formerly of Heidelberg’s Mucus 2, Monochords, and Air 6 —join forces with the drummer from Jeans Teamto go wild in the forest of sounds.
