PAT CARTER (Berlin) // ROGER WILLIAM SMITH (Mannheim) Country, Folk and Blues

Pat Carter, singer/songwriter and driving force of the international Berlin alt-country and Americana band Rodeo FM, has performed everywhere from punk basements to weddings, funerals and demos. He has released four albums with Rodeo FM and played somewhere in the region of 300 concerts between Avignon, Stockholm, London and Kharkiv. Carter has been compared as a songwriter to Tom Petty, Oliver Wood and Jim Croce, but he is rooted in the crossover of punk and country, so you can always hear echoes of Howe Gelb, J Mascis or Uncle Tupelo at Carter's gigs. No less influenced by authors such as Gregoire Chamayou and David Harvey, Carter has established his own niche genre, "left-wing country" or, as the Folker calls it, "discourse country".

Berlin-based left-wing folk artist, making toes tap and dancefloors shake.
