Stuxx, who is almost 14, has no idea why his mother disappeared—and hasn’t wanted to know for a long time. Since then, his father has been taking care of him and his little sister all by himself. Without the ever-cheerful Lila, there would be little sunshine in the small
apartment. With Stuxx, Will Gmehling has created a touching young protagonist whose life is shaped by the experience of being abandoned and by a longing for closeness, love, and reconciliation with himself and the world.
Will Gmehling, born in 1957, lives in Cologne and Bremen. He is the author of many picture books and children’s books, which have been translated into numerous languages and have won many awards.
