Yellowface - the story:

June Hayward and Athena Liu could both be rising stars on the literary scene. But while the Chinese-American author Athena is celebrated for her novels, June ekes out an existence on the sidelines. Nobody is interested in stories by "normal" white girls, at least that's how June sees it.

When June witnesses Athena's death in an accident, she steals Athena's latest, recently completed manuscript, a novel about the heroic deeds of Chinese workers during the First World War.

June revises the work and publishes it under her new pen name Juniper Song. After all, doesn't this piece of history deserve to be told, no matter by whom? But now June has to keep her secret. And find out how far she wants to go to do so.
