Anyone who reads Maximum Rocknroll knows: The Dummies are the "real deal". The power trio from Minneapolis delivers hyperactive speed punk that escalates somewhere between the Spits, Henry Fiat's Open Sore and early Misfits. Trademarks: matching satin jackets, a massive dollop of self-irony and riffs that blast faster than your first man's deck. Their latest album Split With Turnstile is a humorous declaration of war on everyday life - pure, "stupid" punk in the very best sense!
THE GOBS (Olympia, WA)
Straight out of Olympia's DIY scene, The Gobs bring the ultimate lo-fi vibe. The MRR describes them as a "synthy, catchy pogo party band". Expect distorted synths, drum machine beats and catchy anthems that will bring tears of joy to the eyes of fans of Prison Affair, Devo or classic 70s punk gems like the Nubs.
