Proud hips made of bone, stone and baked clay - we call them goddesses, but who or what were they really? In books about the Stone Age, we mainly see men hunting, chipping flint or painting caves. However, most of the images of people left to us by Ice Age people themselves show women. What kind of societies were these that portrayed them and their gender so centrally and without shame?

After years of research, Ulli Lust returns with her large-scale non-fiction comic about the beginnings of art and the importance of empathy for the survival of our species: a forgotten world unfolds around the archaic female figurines, in which the hero's journey was a group affair that could only be passed together, by women, men, children or even non-binary people in sometimes richly adorned roles.
