Damian Dalla Torre – People Pleaser

Born in Italy and living in Leipzig, saxophonist, composer and producer Damian Dalla Torre is one of the exciting voices of a new generation between contemporary jazz, ambient and experimental pop. In his music, he combines acoustic instruments with fine electronic processing and creates sound spaces of great atmospheric density and emotional depth. His works show an artist who increasingly understands sound as an environment and an experience. With his new album "People Pleaser", he opens another chapter. Emerging from a phase of growing artistic self-assurance, his music revolves around questions of expectation, pressure and personal development. At the center of the album is the collaboration with other musicians, whose different sound languages merge into a finely woven whole in his compositions. This cooperative energy also characterizes the live experience: at the Cologne Jazzweek, Torre can be heard in a trio with harpist Babett Niclas and guitarist Markus Rom.
