How can people approach each other, show mutual understanding and solve problems together that they wouldn't have on their own? Daniel Erdmann's Thérapie de Couple is also about such aspects of couples therapy in a figurative sense, but it is not marriage counseling that is meant here, but the Franco-German partnership, which has not always been crisis-free in the past. The saxophonist, who is based in the Champagne city of Reims, uses musical means to sketch out small and large frictions, but also plenty of creative suggestions for resolving conflicts.

With musicians from Germany and France, Daniel Erdmann juxtaposes different mentalities and virtues and makes it clear why his country of birth and his adopted country are considered the supposed driving force of Europe.

Daniel Erdmann is one of the continent's most creative jazz heads. With bands such as Das Kapital, with his own formations such as Erdmann 2000, Erdmann 3000 and Velvet Revolution or alongside pianist Aki Takase, he has helped to shape some relevant chapters in European jazz history.
