On 07.02. Tom Lemke will be present for a director's talk.
The man who has never been to space is Tasillo. In the small Saxon town of Mittweida, he has created the largest private space collection in the world in an inconspicuous house. He has collected hundreds of thousands of exhibits over many decades. Even at the age of 67, his heart still beats endlessly for it. But what happens when Tasillo leaves? He wants to hand over his life's work, but his home town of Mittweida has little use for the collection. And so begins the journey to find a new home for his collection and his life story.
Leipzig director Tom Lemke has accompanied Tasillo on this journey for several years with an exceptionally beautiful visual aesthetic. He portrays a man who pursues his idea with determination, but at the same time still carries his passion for space travel through his life with almost childlike curiosity and joy. A story about the power of dreams and how difficult it can sometimes be to hold on to one's own stories.
