THE POPULAR ORIGINAL IS BACK FOR THE SEASON!

The “Board Game Picnic” is your public open-air game night for board and party games, held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month starting at 6 p.m.*/**.

Analog games. Real people. | Digital detox at its finest. Unwind and relax. | The day was exhausting enough. You’ve earned it!

Besides your favorite snacks and drinks, you don’t need to bring anything—we’ve got everything covered: tables, chairs, restrooms—and, of course, games. It’s all here! Want to bring your favorite game? No problem!

We have no minimum spend, no game or rental fees, no registration, and no other hurdles. Grab one of the tables, grab a tablecloth (if you’d like), sit down, and let the fun begin.

You can bring your own snacks and/or drinks or have them delivered. Everything else is optional. Please check the “Pricing Information” at the very bottom of this post for details.

FOOD & DRINKS:

As mentioned above: It’s best to bring your own drinks, snacks, and other food. A refrigerator is available for your use. Several convenience stores and a “Penny” supermarket are nearby. Alternatively, you’re also welcome to order something from Lieferando, Wolt, Flink, etc. Please note, however, that no tableware—such as plates, knives, forks, or spoons—is available on site.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Don’t worry about the weather. The venue is surrounded by church walls and lots of trees, which keep the area cool. Of course, it never hurts to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses just in case. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll simply move to the community hall.

The address for Spieleglück is the courtyard of the “St. Pantaleon” community hall (across from “Jonas küchen | kultur | köln”) | Trierer Str. 2, 50676 Cologne

KVB Lines 3, 4, or 18:

Get off at the “Poststraße” stop. From there, cross the “Stromberg” Bridge over the Rothgerberbach, walk up “Pantaleonstraße,” and then follow “Waisenhausgasse” until you reach the second intersection. Turn right one more time, and you’ll find the entrance directly across from “Jonas küchen | kultur | köln” on the right-hand side, set into the wall.

KVB Lines 12, 15, or 16:

Get off at the “Eifelstraße” stop. From there, walk past “Newzellas Backstube” and along “Waisenhausgasse” until you reach the second intersection. Turn left one more time, and you’ll find the entrance directly across from “Jonas küchen | kultur | köln,” set into the wall on the right-hand side.

Car, bike, and other modes of transportation:

Of course, you can also come by bike or e-scooter. You can simply park them in the courtyard behind the entrance gate (except for shared bikes or e-scooters—according to the providers, these must be parked in public spaces!).

Coming by car is, of course, no problem either. You can find parking spots in the area, for example, through private providers using the “Ampido” app.
