Duo Glanz/Moumon

A duo with a special line-up - saxophonist Max Glanz and guitarist Parijat Moumon interweave jazz with world music influences to create a sound that emulsifies the distinctive sound of the soprano saxophone with the multi-layered timbre of the Spanish guitar.

The stringed instrument not only plays the role of accompanist, but presents itself as an independent voice that also picks up on world music elements: with percussive impulses and atmospheric effects, Parijat Moumon creates the basis for the duo's interpretation of the repertoire consisting of well-known pieces by composers such as Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Richie Beirach and others.Max Glanz responds on the soprano saxophone with melodic and rhythmic sophistication and the ability to allow the shape of various wind instruments to shine through in his tone.

The focus is on the interplay - no instrument can hide in this line-up. Both musicians share responsibility for melody, harmony and rhythm. In the mutual interplay, a conversation is created which is based both on the reorganization of the selected works and on joint improvisation.
