In the organizer's words:

On this evening, the three protagonists meet for the first time - a fascinating interplay of three unmistakable musical styles that merge into a unique world of sound in the common language of jazz.

Brian Seeger (cover picture)
An integral part of the vibrant New Orleans jazz scene is Brian Seeger, known for his warm, flowing tone, his searching melodic improvisations and his impressive compositions. Seeger has performed with Dr. Lonnie Smith, Stanton Moore, Nicholas Payton, Herlin Riley, Karrin Allyson, Aaron Neville and many other artists in front of audiences in 30 countries, from Bolivia to Kazakhstan. He has also performed at prestigious festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival and Umbria Jazz.

Although his musical excursions have been strongly influenced by his studies with contemporary jazz greats such as Gary Burton and Ellis Marsalis, Seeger's playing is deeply rooted in the blues, American roots music and the sound of New Orleans. He combines these elements to create a deeply personal and soulful style. His musical aesthetic is essentially that of a jazz musician, but at the same time leaves plenty of room for influences from other genres.

A respected jazz educator, Seeger holds the Coca-Cola Endowed Chair in Jazz Studies at the University of New Orleans. He is also an award-winning composer and producer with over 30 releases to his credit. Seeger is a member of the Producer and Engineering Wing of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (GRAMMYs) and an official artist endorser for Mesa Boogie amplifiers and D'Addario products.

"The acclaimed guitar virtuoso ... Seeger's guitar playing is exceptional, and his lifetime of experience allows him to push musical boundaries further and further ..."
- Chris Saucier, WWOZ

"Brian Seeger is one of the unsung heroes of modern New Orleans jazz."
- Jay Mazza, thevinyldistrict.com

"Brian Seeger, ...who took the audience's breath away. It is the musical diversity of New Orleans that he creates, that takes over the room, ...rousing rhythms make the cellar shake."
- Aachener Zeitung

Tamara Lukasheva

As a composer, singer and instrumentalist, she is an artist of the first rank who lives and loves music in all its facets. With her works, she creates captivating and profound soundscapes that take all listeners on an emotional journey. Her compositions are a mixture of creativity, innovation and technical sophistication. They expand the boundaries of music and explore new horizons.

But Tamara Lukasheva is not only impressive as a composer. With her extraordinary voice, which can sound both powerful and delicate, she infuses her songs with a magic all of their own. She tells stories that move us all.

She walks through the world full of curiosity and with alert senses. Music is her mother tongue - and her means of processing impressions, encounters, everyday life and world events. And to create something new that in turn touches other people; across borders and musical categories.

Tamara Lukasheva was born in Odessa, Ukraine, in 1988. Between 2003 and 2007 she studied at the Conservatory in Odessa, and between 2010 and 2015 at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne, where she now lives.

Clemens Orth

The interaction with the "keys" has always fascinated the pianist and composer Clemens Orth like a "love at first sight". He started playing the piano at the age of three and eventually received lessons and a classical education. At 17, he completed his training as a church organist. What followed then strung together like a string of pearls of interactions.
With his piano trio, he won the Krakow Jazz Juniors competition in 1995. He made his first recordings in 1997 when he was a member of the German National Youth Jazz Orchestra (Focus on Vocals, Mons Records). In the same year, he played in Gunter Hampel's Next Generation, with whom he performed at the MusikTriennale Cologne, among others. He recorded the album The 8th of September 1999 with Hampel in New York and Earthlings in the Dresden Tonne the following year
He also recorded his debut album Silhouette Ascending (Mons) in a trio with Dietmar Fuhr (double bass) and Matthias Kornmaier (drums)
In 2000 he received a scholarship to study at Queens College in New York City.
In 2009, he released the solo album Here Now (Konnex), on which he presented his own compositions alongside standards such as "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To" and Thad Jones' "A Child Is Born".
Today, Clemens Orth is at the zenith of numerous musical formations and honors. Both as a soloist (in 2009 he won the international piano competition "Premio Benedetto XIII" in Bari) and with his trios (in 1995 he won the Krakow Jazz Juniors competition), he has received awards and worked on numerous album productions as a studio musician. His concerts take place internationally at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall New York as well as in concert halls and churches. For the renowned JAZZTHING magazine, Clemens Orth is "...a musician... who loves his autonomy and independence, but still remains connected to his cultural roots, his influences and imprints"...Jazzthing 81 (11/09 - 01/10)

Again and again, Clemens Orth discovers new things for himself through the interaction with Hammond organ and his own, human voice. Clemens Orth composes, arranges, improvises and produces recordings of various styles in his own recording studio in Cologne.
in his own recording studio in Cologne.

The core of the pianist Clemens Orth lies in his performance as a soloist and the supreme discipline of improvisation in which he draws from the full and allows his audience of different generations to participate.
HERE NOW said about Clemens Orth in a review that he is an "... eloquent storyteller who captivates the audience with rhythmic finesse and fluid phrasing..." and who knows how to do it,
"...to reduce improvised musical material to the essentials, as if off the cuff...."
