As one of the most well-known and successful rappers in the UK today, EsDeeKid is the poster child for the new generation of UK rap. In addition to his distinctive Liverpool Scouse accent, his trademarks include a black balaclava that conceals his identity. In 2024, he made his big breakthrough with his blend of cloud rap, trap, and UK underground, highlighted by the song “Palaces.” That track, along with “4 Raws,” “LV Sandals,” “Phantam,” and others, remains one of his most successful releases to date. With 13 million monthly listeners on Spotify and high-profile collaborations with fakemink, Rico Ace, and others, EsDeeKid has cemented his prominent position in the scene; he is often compared to artists like Chief Keef, Playboi Carti, and Lil Uzi Vert. This November, he’s taking his signature trap sound on tour once again, making two stops in Germany along the way.

From the very beginning of his career, EsDeeKid has maintained his anonymity, which is why very little is known about the rapper’s background. The Liverpool-born artist began releasing tracks on platforms like SoundCloud in 2023, which quickly made a name for him in the underground rap scene. His anonymity led to rumors at one point that actor Timothée Chalamet was the person behind the balaclava, but this was debunked. His only album to date , “Rebel,” marked his major international breakthrough last year and propelled EsDeeKid into the charts in many countries. In November, he’ll be performing his music live here in Berlin and Cologne.
