Faszination Astronomie: Die Wunderwelt des Universums - Moderne Meisterwerke der Astronomie
In the organizer's words:
Spectacular images from astronomy and space exploration give us new insights into the universe every day. We often have images to thank for this—images that reveal details we’ve never seen before, leave us in awe, or are simply breathtakingly beautiful. Ground-based observatories and space telescopes such as Hubble and Webb play a major role in this. Robotic rovers roaming across alien celestial bodies and space probes traveling alone through the cosmos also provide fantastic glimpses of distant worlds.
Dr. Andreas Müller, an astrophysicist and editor-in-chief of *Sterne und Weltraum*, takes his audience on a journey into the magic of astronomical images. In doing so, he also reveals the side of the universe that is hidden from our eyes—for example, images captured in the infrared or X-ray spectrum. This cosmic journey includes material that was only recently published. It begins with our home planet, Earth, and takes us past objects in the solar system to stars and nebulae light-years away. We venture deeper and deeper into space, almost all the way back to the Big Bang. In the end, it becomes clear: the beauty of the images is felt even more deeply when viewed with a background in astronomy. Be prepared for the unexpected.
