feeLit 2026: Kristof Magnusson - Journey to the end of history
Language: German
At feeLit., Kristof Magnusson transform s a time of historical upheaval into an adventurous spy novel: Kristof Magnusson tells of a time when everything seemed possible and yet many things went tragicomically wrong. A double agent wants to do one last big thing in Kazakhstan, a poet hopes for the adventure of his life and an Italian teacher tries to prevent the worst from happening. A story about longings, deceptions and failure at the moment of supposed freedom.
Kristof Magnusson, born in Hamburg in 1976, writes novels and plays, translates from Icelandic and is committed to literature in simple language. His play "Männerhort" was made into a movie with Elyas M'Barek and Christoph Maria Herbst, and in 2023 he was awarded the Villa Massimo Rome Prize. Kristof Magnusson lives in Berlin.
"A cheerful key to understanding history today."
Jan Ehlert, NDR Kultur, February 27, 2026
"If Kristof Magnusson's literature were a weather phenomenon, we would be in April: first cheerfulness, then thunder, then a cold snap, and in the end you sit there with short sleeves and find it the most fantastic time of the year." Saša Stanišić
