Nadine Schwitter (Director & Screenplay)

“No City, No Village”
Ekaterina Reinbold (Director & Screenplay), Daphne Klein (Cinematography)
Feature Film, 2026, 23 min.
Zhenya gathers with her family at a community center to celebrate her grandfather’s birthday. She hopes to use the occasion to reconnect with her mother. As the day unfolds, intense conversations arise, minor friction occurs, and long-overdue heart-to-hearts take place. Little by little, the family members open up and talk about repressed memories, the life they left behind in Kazakhstan, and the difficult new beginning in Germany. Amid all these voices, Zhenya finds a way into her own story—and perhaps also into her mother’s.
“You don’t look anything alike”
Eva Świątkowski (Director & Screenplay)
Documentary, 2025, 26 min.
On her stepfather’s land, stepfather and daughter search for and discover different stories and insights. Dêrsim, a refuge for Kurds and Alevis for centuries, was renamed Tunceli in 1935 as part of Turkey’s state-led homogenization efforts. Returning to a home that was nearly destroyed by hegemonic violence, memories are rekindled—memories that branch out into the collective histories of the region and the diaspora in Germany. This raises questions about belonging and identity, as well as what solidarity might look like today.
“M.”
Adrian Witzel (Director & Screenplay)
Feature film, 2026, 27 min.
A house holds the lives of several generations of a family within its walls. M. returns as an adult woman to remember her late mother. She finds images from her childhood—of letting go and the brutality of growing up. As a child, M. is torn; she blurs the lines between truth and fiction, past, present, and future. Out of fear of losing someone, M. creates a new person.
